During the BTCC race at the Birmingham Superprix, Chris Hodgetts in his Vauxhall Cavalier GSi car was struggling to overtake the BMW M3 of Godfrey Hall. Hodgetts tried to go around on the outside at Labatt's Corner but unfortunately he collided with Hall and the BMW smacked into the barrier.Fortunately Hodgetts and Hall finished 8th and 9th with the BMW still running with a damaged rear wheel to the finishing line.
