AI Stupidity at DFW

The story goes...I was cruising along, having fun in a BMW around DFW after my UVA Saturday Scramble, and I sit at the toll booth for one second, and I peer over to the arriving traffic.... 22 arriving aircraft on final!! I quickly pulled out the camera and taped all the madness. If anyone could explain this to me, please do so, cuz this was rediculous.
