Another nail in the coffin of the manual transmission?
With the 2008 BMW 5-Series, an automatic transmission no longer costs more. BMW has continued to offer manual transmissions in nearly every model long after other companies stopped doing so. Now the old stick shift seems to be losing favor even with BMW. This pricing decision could hasten the decline of manual transmission sales.
